Rogue Stormers is a modernized Contra/Metal Slug mash-up with roguelike and RPG elements, crazy 3D graphics and co-op multiplayer for one to 4 players.
GameplayRogue Stormers combines classic run ‘n’ gun gameplay with a modern art style, twin stick shooter configuration and all the good things rogue like has to offer. Did we mention that you can have up to three friends join you on your rampage in either online or couch co-op mode? Your goal is to fight and beat the ultimate evil threatening Ravensdale - but in order to beat him, you need to fight your way through 7 increasingly challenging levels. If you die, you'll be back at square one. Earned perks are yours to keep, allowing your character to grow stronger with each new raid. Our technology enables us to layer and combine level chunks to create meaningful level combinations with infinite replayability. An ever-growing cast of enemies, hazards and loot is layered within each chunk, generating incredible diversity. Tons of different upgrades and weapons will cause each new session to play in a unique fashion, depending on which weapons or upgrades you pick and get. Adding to that are five unlockable character classes, each with its own skills and base weapon. The further you delve into the vast undercity of Ravensdale, the more you will learn about the city's history and that of its citizens, as well as the tragic backgrounds of the five heroes who took arms to save the city. All these factors combined determine how you’ll engage the sprawling city of Ravensdale. Will you go toe to toe with your enemies or pick them off them from a distance? Will you cripple your enemies, block attacks or just blast everything apart with pure damage?
You may have already seen us on Kickstarter, where we successfully hit the goal for the completion of our Giana project in August 2012 and released Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams as planned in October 2012, one of the very first games to get greenlit on Steam. We also recently released GS:TD's standalone expansion Rise of the Owlverlord (83 metascore). Our second Kickstarter in August 2013, Project Ravensdale, wasn’t as successful. We fought with strong support from our brave backers but we didn’t reach the goal to get funding for the complete production. As a consequence, we went back to work for hire projects, working on the prototype whenever we could spare the manpower. Now we are back - Rogue Stormers is picking up where Project Ravensdale left off! We've spent a lot of our own time and money to get the game up and running, and have reached a state where we have something playable and presentable. With the help of this Kickstarter, we intend to push DieselStörmers to a playable state ready for Steam Early Access, where we can continue to expand and enhance it from there. As we aren't gunning for full funding like last time, our goal is much more modest this time around. By funding our Kickstarter you can get in on day one, and help make sure DieselStörmers is fully packed with metal-pounding goodness! In October 2015 we had to change the game's title from Dieselstörmers to Rogue Stormers. Unfortunately fashion label Diesel opposed our trademark registration of Dieselstörmers and the Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market chose to follow Diesel's arguement and deny us the trademark in the most important category, namely for video games. This decision caught us with our pants down, and we decided to not fight the decision, but to change the name to Rogue Stormers.
